Climate Education Initiatives

Participants of all ages gained an understanding of the phenomenon of climate change and were trained through a specially designed digital tool—the Toolkit—to serve as Climate Ambassadors, conveying a powerful message:

“We have the power, the tools, and the awareness. What remains is the decision.”

The Student Community of Kardamyla – “Maria’s House”, the Maritime Vocational High School (EPAL) TEENS, the Gymnasium of Kallimasia, the Chios Open Care Centre for the Elderly (K.A.P.H.), the volunteer group THALiA Chios, the Chios branch of the Hellenic Red Cross, the Neochori Cultural Association, and the Central Association of Large Families of Chios were the first to declare their readiness to take action.

In total, 225 residents of Chios were trained, the majority being students, along with 15 participants over the age of 70.

This is only the beginning. Training activities will continue across the island of Chios.
